The former villa of Henryk Piontek, an Upper Silesian Governor, from the mid-1970s has been a city library. The building was constructed in 1910-1920, when the Art Nouveau style was dominant in architecture. In 2018, the Municipal and Poviat Public Library underwent a major refurbishment, the purpose of which was the interior modernisation and adaptation of rooms to the needs of employees and readers. The choice of lighting was a key issue. In libraries it is of considerable importance.

In rooms and cabinets, MASTER long fixtures have been installed. Square MASTER panels have been fitted along the corridors, and in the loft areas converted into office space. When LED lighting is closely matched to natural light, it guarantees comfortable working conditions in rooms with irregular heights. MASTER panels have also been used in rooms in the basement of the library intended for working in, including in the archives. The narrow corridors and confined spaces have benefitted from MATIS LED fittings.
